Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long - Show Information
SHOW DESCRIPTION
Join Mr. Tom Carradine, on the Ol’ Joanna, as he leads you in a traditional Cockney sing-a-long. With songs from the music hall era, WWI and II, the West End stage and traditional popular songs from across the decades it’s a good old-fashioned knees-up!
Born out of the impromptu late night sing-a-longs at the Twinwood Festival, since it’s launch in 2014 Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long has been a fixture on the UK’s vintage scene, playing sell-out dates in the main auditorium at Wilton’s Music Hall, every Thursday at Mr Fogg's Tavern in Covent Garden and for vintage festivals, corporate events and private parties across the country and in Europe.
Tom Carradine, pianist, entertainer and Music Hall aficionado, decided that he wanted to capture the flavour and atmosphere of a good old-fashioned knees-up, in the grand Cockney tradition, and recreate it for audiences young and old.
The sing-a-long has appeared on The Apprentice (BBC One), The Hairy Builder (BBC Two), Sunday Brunch (Channel 4) and Tom regularly provides the soundtrack to videos on the award-winning Joolz Guides YouTube channel. In May 2022 he entertained audiences on a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2 and in January 2022 was recognised by the British Music Hall Society with an award for “keeping the spirit of music hall alive”.

TECHNICAL SET-UP
Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long is fully self-contained. He tours Kimberly, his 73-key Kemble Upright Piano, which has been modified and attached to heavy duty wheels (old dust-cart wheels in fact!). All Tom requires is level-ish access. Kimberly fits through a standard doorway (see piano dimensions below) and Tom carries ramps with him so small sets of steps can be negotiated. Please consider access when booking Tom for a gig.
Tom brings his Yamaha Stagepass 300 PA system which is suitable for venues up to the size of a village hall. For larger venues Tom can plug into the house PA system, or the client may wish to provide their own sound equipment.
Tom’s current PAT certificate, Public Liability certificate and Risk Assessment can be downloaded HERE. [If your venue requires a venue specific Risk Assessment then please get in touch.]
Kimberly (Tom’s piano) is the following dimension:
1.14m wide x 1.15m high x 0.6m deep
Tom requires a stage floor area of (approx.):
