Tom Carradine - Pianist / Host
Born and raised in Coventry, Tom studied Biochemistry at Imperial College London. Since graduating in 2004 he has worked extensively as a musical director and keyboard player on theatre shows, both in London and across the UK.
Tom’s theatre credits include the UK tours of Hi-de-Hi and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (as Musical Director), Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Scrooge and Cabaret (as Assistant Musical Director), The Sound of Music (Children's Musical Director) and Associate Musical Director on The Sound of Music which toured to Jordan.
Tom's pantomime credits include Mother Goose and Babes in the Wood (Pomegranate, Chesterfield), Aladdin: A Wish Come True (Theatre at the O2, starring Paul O'Grady) and Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves for UK Productions at the Assembly Hall, Tunbridge Wells.
As keyboard player: Les Miserables (Queen's Theatre, London) Cinderella (Hackney Empire) and the UK tours of Blood Brothers, Half a Sixpence, Waterloo, Mad About the Musicals and Gotta Sing Gotta Dance, as well as Cats and The Wizard of Oz for the Larnaca International Festival in Cyprus.
Tom has been involved with Brick Lane Music Hall in Silvertown, London since 2016. He started as Assistant Musical Director and 2nd Keyboards, taking over as Musical Director in 2017. When the theatre re-opened after the Covid-19 hiatus Tom handed over the MD reigns at Brick Lane, but still works for them as Musical Arranger.
In 2022 Tom was asked to work with the world famous Players Theatre putting together new arrangements for their New Faces show. May 2023 saw Tom making his performance debut with the Players Theatre accompanying their show at Wilton’s Music Hall on the British Music Hall Society’s Music Hall and Variety Day 2023.
Due to his sing-a-long work, celebrating the Music Hall and Variety songs that he loves, in January 2022 he was recognised by the British Music Hall Society with an award for “keeping the spirit of music hall alive”.
Tom has worked extensively as a pianist on the London cabaret circuit and has tickled the ivories at many prestigious venues such as Cafe de Paris, Crazy Coqs, Grill Room at the Cafe Royal, Scarfes Bar at The Rosewood Hotel, The Pheasantry, Savoy Hotel, Battersea Barge, Cellar Door and the Phoenix Artists Club.
He was the house pianist of Cabaret Confidential for two years at The Pheasantry and since 2010 has been the musical director of Champagne Charlie and the Bubbly Boys, a 1920/30s style dance band.
In May 2022 Tom was accompanist for the Society of London Theatre / Olivier Awards Theatre at Sea week on board the Queen Mary 2 sailing between New York and Southampton, working with artistes including Sharon D Clarke, Matt Henry, Matt Croke and Jessica Daley.
